YouTube Celeb Chris Crocker to Make Gay Porn
YNOT – The rumor is true: After two months of speculation in the cybersphere, Chris “Leave Britney alone” Crocker has confirmed he will perform a sexually explicit role in an upcoming gay adult movie for Channel 1 Releasing.
Crocker burst into the public consciousness in a big way in September 2007 when his tearful “leave Britney alone” video plea went viral during the height of singer Britney Spears’ self-inflicted reputation meltdown. The androgynous teen from Tennessee suddenly found himself plastered all over the web and the media, and he parlayed his 15 minutes of fame into a career of sorts as a video diarist, talk show guest, advertising pitchman and indie recording artist.
Now 23 and shed of the long blond locks, eye shadow and drag queen wardrobe, Crocker has reinvented himself as a gay stud complete with a buzz cut and muscles. Iconic director Chi Chi LaRue recently cast him in an as-yet-to-be-titled gay adult movie to be filmed in November.
“I’m a big Chris Crocker fan,” LaRue said. “As a DJ, I play his music a lot and I love his videos where he tells it like it is. I want this movie to leave people asking themselves about the very nature of pornography and I want it to incorporate everything that Chris Crocker is: The video diary entries, the music, the artist, the freak.”
LaRue added that she hopes the movie will explore these themes and leave the audience asking themselves questions about the very nature of porn. Crocker said questions of that nature are why he decided to venture into the milieu.
“I’ve already exposed every other part of myself on camera, haven’t I?” he asked. “Having sex on camera with a stranger is actually a lot less revealing than many of the things I’ve posted on YouTube. The real question for me is ‘What is porn? Is it a lewd and lascivious exposure of yourself?’ Because I’ve done that clothed.
“[LaRue and I are] both freaks of nature,” he added, laughing. “She knows I’m not just doing this to make a buck. It’s just an addition to my artistry, and she gets my vision.”
