YNOT Radio’s “AVN Afternoons” to Kick Off with Gary Kremen
CHATSWORTH, CA – Today marks the return of AVN Afternoons to YNOT Radio’s lineup, as hosts MJ McMahon (Senior Editor at AVN) and former Penthouse Pet Aimee Sweet welcome Gary Kremen, founder of Grant Media and former owner of Sex.com. The show airs this afternoon at 4pm Eastern/1pm Pacific.“We wanted to kickoff the return of AVN Afternoons with a bang,” McMahon says. “Gary Kremen is hands down one of the most intriguing people in the business and what better way to hear this amazing story then from the man himself? We might just have some other surprises up our sleeve too, so be sure to tune in.”
“I love Gary, he is a great guy. When I was living in San Diego I got to know Gary very well and I’m very happy to see his long drawn out fight over Sex.com come to a positive resolution,” Sweet says. “He deserves it.”
Kremen recently sold Sex.com for an undisclosed eight-figure sum, after a 10-year legal battle with Stephen Michael Cohen, who hijacked the domain from Kremen in 1995. After his conviction in 2001, Cohen fled the country and took up residence in Mexico. Cohen was finally caught again in October of last year, is currently incarcerated in California, and still owes Kremen millions in damages.
Today’s show marks McMahon’s first as a show host, and although he has appeared as a guest on radio shows before, McMahon confessed to a minor case of the butterflies.
“I’m a little nervous I guess,” McMahon said, “but just nervous because it’s the first show, not because of being unprepared. Gary’s a fun and interesting guy, and I’m sure it’s going to be a great show.”
McMahon said that Kremen is representative of the kind of guest he wants to feature on AVN Afternoons each week.
“We’re shooting for high-profile guests, people whose names you’ve heard before,” McMahon said.
In addition to Kremen’s appearance, McMahon said that the show would feature “at least one fresh, new and shiny announcement about Aimee,” and a trivia contest which will be a weekly feature of the show. This week’s trivia contest winner will receive a $100 voucher for use at the Tempe Mission Palms Hotel’s Mission Grille during the Phoenix Forum, provided by SmashBucks.
