YNOT Hosting Panel at World-Famous South by Southwest Festival
YNOT.com is thrilled to be hosting a panel on Tech-Driven Trends in Adult Entertainment at the world-famous South by Southwest Festival (SXSW) in Austin, Texas. The yearly celebration combines film, music, educational programs and more to create a unique experience which draws more than 232,000 attendees (2019 numbers). An Oscar-qualifying fest, SXSW is known for programming some of the most critically acclaimed independent feature and short films on the planet, promoting up and coming musical acts, throwing industry parties and networking events and bringing together top professionals in numerous fields to discuss all things related to the future of entertainment.
On March 13, from 4pm to 5pm at the Hilton Austin Downtown in Salon K, YNOT will take the floor to discuss how platforms for user-generated content have been central to the success of adult businesses and talent in the last five years – a trend that has only continued to grow during the pandemic. The discussion will delve into the mechanics of how sites like OnlyFans, live webcam platforms like Chaturbate and independent content marketplaces like Clips4Sale put the power back in the hands of talent, improve conditions for women and promote creative autonomy for artists.
The Tech-Driven Trends in Adult Entertainment panel was conceived of, developed and submitted by YNOT co-owner Connor Young. Due to fierce competition for the limited number of panel slots available each year at SXSW, the odds of having your proposal adopted are slim for any applicant — and slimmer still for those in the adult industry, making the presentation of this panel discussion even more special.
Four moderators handpicked by YNOT including Shirley Lara, the COO of Chaturbate, Courtney Trouble, Owner of Trouble Films, April Flores of April Flores Productions and Sinnamon Love, Founder at BIPOC-AIC will share their decades of expertise.
Each of these fantastic ladies expressed how proud they were to represent the adult community at an event as respected as SXSW. Lara, who joined Chaturbate soon after its launch in 2011 and is responsible for creating the site’s community feel, said: “I am thrilled to be at SXSW to discuss the amazing world of camming. Here at Chaturbate, we have seen how camming has transformed lives and given people of all genders, sizes and nationalities a chance to embrace their bodies, find accepting online communities and earn money from the safety of their own homes. There are so many ways to earn through affiliate revenue, fan clubs, selling content and more. It’s an honor to be on a panel with other industry leaders and I’m excited to see where the conversation takes us.”
Trouble, a genderqueer performer who has starred in over 70 full-length adult films over the course of twenty years, seconded Lara’s enthusiasm about being part of YNOT’s roundtable: “Sex and technology are deeply connected, and on this panel, we’re going to talk about technological advancements in interactive video, third-party platforms and content creation. I’m excited to be in discussion with such great women about what comes next in the worlds of camming, fan sites, clip stores, crypto, and more. Reach me on Twitter @courtneytrouble or at my website troublefilms.com.”
A live cam model and adult content creator with 16+ years’ experience in adult entertainment, April Flores stated: “I am so excited to attend SXSW alongside my friends and colleagues. I’m ready to speak about my experience with a whole new audience who is clearly interested in our opinions.”
