YNOT Grand Prix Barcelona Impersonates NASCAR
BARCELONA, Spain – The first race of the YNOT Grand Prix’s fifth championship season would have enthralled the most diehard NASCAR fan: The crashes just kept on coming.
“More than half the drivers were serious competitors,” said YNOT Group Vice President Jay, who coordinates the races. “Lots of crashes due to the fierce competition; lots of karts were damaged.”
The never-ending collisions only added to an already highly charged atmosphere, he added, thanks in part to the generous support of title sponsor JuicyAds and other sponsors including DatingFactory, Badoink, FNCash, Paxum and WebcamWiz.
“The event was awesome,” Jay said. “One hundred twenty people arrived. Eighty-four of them were drivers. I can’t believe it, but the event is still growing.”
Despite unfortunate encounters with walls, barriers and one another, “even the laid-back drivers and spectators had a blast,” Jay said. “The track [Scratch Indoor Karting Penedès] was well-prepared for us. Everything flowed very well. I think the newcomers wondered what took them so long to sign up.”
Winners of the first leg in the 2014 YNOT Grand Prix season were:
First place: Til from Lazeeva, a first-timer who had the best track time of the day at 43.613 seconds.
Second place: Patrick “The Hun,” whose fastest time was 44.237
Third place: Chavi from CumLouder, with a time of 44.566
The YNOT Grand Prix’s next pit stop is March 26 during The Phoenix Forum. After that, the event will race into Qwebec Expo in Montreal in August and the Prague incarnation of The European Summit in the fall.
