YNOT Grand Prix Barcelona: Bragging Rights on the Line
YNOT – The YNOT Grand Prix’s Barcelona leg, presented by 2000Charge, will take place March 5 as one of the opening acts for The European Summit. Set to bolt from the starting gate at 4 p.m. at the renowned Indoor Karting Barcelona track, 35 drivers will jockey for their place in kart-racing history. They’ll have to surmount 500 meters of chicanes, demanding curves and scaled Formula 1 features found nowhere else.
And all of the racers will be aiming to dethrone reigning champ Raphael “The Flying Dutchman” Berkien, business development manager for 2000Charge and winner of last year’s race. Berkien also won the first race of 2012 in Las Vegas in January, making him this year’s YNOT Grand Prix top seed. By all accounts a friendly, helpful, all-around nice guy in his daily life, Berkien is a ruthless competitor on the track.
That doesn’t scare Mo “The Italian Ace” Aguiari, who is determined to leave Berkien eating dust in Barcelona.
“I will do whatever is legal — and illegal, if that’s what it takes — to guarantee Raphael suffers the agony of defeat,” said Aguiari, business development director for YNOT Group LLC. “I have been practicing here in Milan at the Monza racetrack for two weeks, so I will be ready for that tall, hair-dyed, ego-pumped Dutch wannabe-hero.”
Berkien is unfazed.
“Ah, the Italian drama,” he said, buffing his nails. “Let’s just make sure that Mo, aka Luigi, doesn’t show up in his Speedo and spoil the scenery for all of us.”
Launched in 2010, the YNOT Grand Prix is the adult industry’s championship kart-racing series, awarding both team and individual titles. Component events in the U.S. and Europe provide participants with an opportunity to network amidst some obviously cutthroat competition. Cunning and good-natured trash talk play as big a role as skill, but the camaraderie is priceless.
Thanks to the generosity of race sponsors, transportation to and from the track will be provided. A shuttle will depart from in front of the Hotel Miramar, headquarters for The European Summit, at precisely 3 p.m. The same shuttle will return racers and spectators to the hotel at the conclusion of the event. For those who prefer to provide their own transportation, Indoor Karting Barcelona is located at Ctra. Laureà Miró, 434 (N-340), 08980 Sant Feliu de Llobregat.
The YNOT Grand Prix Barcelona, presented by 2000Charge, is sponsored by PussyCash, Dating Factory, Traffic Force, FN Cash and RIVCash.
