Yanks Makes Perpetual Gift to Fight Domestic Violence
SEATTLE – Defying the usual odds, Yanks.com has partnered with a mainstream charity to battle domestic abuse and sexual violence.
Starting with its June 2016 balance sheets, the company has designated a portion of sales to benefit Call to Safety, an Oregon-based nonprofit devoted not only to improving the lives of those affected by abuse, but also to changing the way society faces the problem.
The donation will continue in perpetuity, YanksCash Chief Executive Officer Billie said.
“[Yanks co-founder] Todd and I, our employees and our models believe it to be a moral imperative that every business gives back to the communities that support it,” Billie said. “Adult companies are no different. For us, one of those communities is obvious: women. Without our photographers and our beautiful, strong, open-minded Yanks Girls, our site would not be possible.”
Billie said the Yanks family is especially pleased that Call to Safety was eager to work with an adult entertainment company run by women.
“For many years, the environment was not friendly to giving back to [the mainstream] community in a meaningful way,” she said. “2016, however, has finally given us that opportunity. Our entire company is proud to be able to leverage our brand and our fans to give to an organization that works to empower women and protect all the victims of domestic and sexual violence.”
Call to Safety, originally the Portland Women’s Crisis Line (PWCL), was one of the first five sexual violence crisis lines in the U.S. Through the years, the organization has expanded its programs, which now include a 24/7 crisis line, a sexual assault program, community outreach and education, and sex Industry Outreach.
More than social service, Call to Safety was founded to bring about social change. Domestic and sexual violence are far too common in modern society. Therefore, the organization not only empowers those who experience violence, but also works to end the oppression and violence that causes people to seek Call to Safety’s services.
“We’re partnering with Yanks because we appreciate their commitment to the empowerment and safety of women,” said Call to Safety spokeswoman Rebecca. “The world needs more solid businesses that contribute to the greater good, and Yanks is doing just that.”
The enthusiasm for the partnership has spread beyond Yanks and Call to Safety. Freelance models, feminists and YanksCash affiliates have pledged support, as well.
“I’m always seeking ways to eliminate the taboo of female sexuality by empowering women through my work,” feminist amateur model and regular Yanks Girl Jessica said. “However, it’s important to realize that women face severe forms of domestic and sexual violence every day. That’s why I’m extremely proud to work with a production company that has the same values that I do, by supporting an organization that seeks to provide support and resources for these women.”
Like-minded affiliates including Sssh.com have joined the effort by pledging regularly focused fundraising campaigns.
“We at Yanks, through our own personal experiences with domestic violence, share the passion to empower the victims of domestic and sexual violence,” Billie said. “Interested advertisers, content partners and webmasters can contact us with any questions they may have about how to support this truly unique initiative by working with Yanks.com and YanksCash.com.”
