Xobile Says Mobile Adult Business Growing
CHARLOTTE, NC – Xobile, among the leaders in the distribution of adult movies on mobile phones and wireless devices, says its advanced system for providing two-minute film clips on Internet-enabled portable devices is growing at a rate of 5,000-6,000 new subscribers per month.Xobile is a division of Adult Entertainment Broadcast Network (AEBN), one of the web’s top distributors of Video-on-Demand (VOD) adult movies. Their flagship mobile site is xobile.com, which is viewable through most mobile devices currently on the market.
“Use of Internet-enabled mobile phones and wireless devices is exploding across the globe and is expected to grow by more than 2,000 percent in the next two years,” says Harvey Kaplan, AEBN’s Director of Mobile Operations. In addition to the 5,000 to 6,000 new viewers per month, Xobile also claims to convert one of eight trial subscribers to paying customers. “Our growth and conversion rates are phenomenal,” Kaplan said. “Today’s consumers want instant access to quality content. They don’t want to wait until they get home to watch adult movies.”
The company will be demonstrating their mobile platform at their booth (#511) at Internext, August 5-7 in Hollywood, Florida. Kaplan said Xobile would demonstrate a customized mobile solution to its existing affiliates as well as potential affiliates visiting Internext.
Currently offering over 45,000 two-minute clips edited from 4,575 different adult films, Xobile covers 150 different categories, from classics like “Debbie Does Dallas” to specialty/niche content catering to virtually every imaginable sexual interest.
”Xobile gives webmasters easy and profitable access to an emerging marketplace,” Kaplan said. “It allows the adult industry to serve customers in a mobile environment and since customers can access clips while they are on the go, it extends our affiliates’ reach to existing customers who may not always be in front of their PC. For affiliates, this opens up a new revenue stream without any additional work or risk on their part.”
Purchases on Xobile are handled through a “credit package”, which allows consumers to download varying minutes of movies. Members of AEBN are automatically enrolled in Xobile and customers pay only for what they watch, with the right to browse, select, and view them on their mobile phone or wireless device.
“These phones are equipped with a default 3GPP media player, Windows Media or Real Player, which allows the movie clip to be viewed,” Kaplan said. “Every one of our clips is encoded in multiple bitrates and in all three formats listed above for maximum device penetration. Multiple speeds are also important. High speed provides the best quality but requires more bandwidth; Low speed requires much less bandwidth but doesn’t look as good; Medium is usually the best combination of speed and quality for devices currently in use in the U.S. marketplace.”
