X3GUIDE Adds 1200th Paysite to its Database
CYBERSPACE – Porn site review portal X3GUIDE.com has announced it recently added the 1200th paysite to its database, a sum which seems even more significant when one considers the depth and detail of the listings.
While primarily a review site, X3GUIDE also serves as a database through which users can browse paysites broken down by genre. The site lists dozens of niches and categories, from 3D animation to wrestling and all points in between.
In terms of reviews, X3GUIDE is known to publish some of the most detailed and comprehensive available. The site’s reviewers collect a wide variety of information on the members area, including the number of videos and photo galleries, content file formats and details about webcams, if the site being reviewed offers such.
The company said it assesses paysites from many different angles, including content quality, content quantity, update frequency, usability and originality. The results are both described in detailed reviews and quantified in an overall score for each site.
“Our most important values are honesty and impartiality,” said John Woole, head reviewer at X3GUIDE. “We don’t favor big companies to small ones. There are many independent paysites that achieved a high ranking from us. This is partly because originality is an important component of our final review score formula, and some small operations really shine in this aspect.”
Woole said one side-effect of the site’s attention to detail is X3GUIDE sometimes has difficulty keeping up with reviewing all the new porn sites which launch from month to month.
“While there are not so many new high-budget membership sites, there are a lot of smaller ones launching every single month – especially if you consider the new paysite platforms such as ModelCentro,” Woole said. “We simply can’t review all sites, we have to be selective.”
Woole also noted that X3GUIDE has seen certain genres which have clearly grown in popularity in recent years – including one which mirrors a recent trend in content produced for offline distribution, as well: So-called “fauxcest” videos.
“We’ve seen a big amount of new paysites jumping on the stepfamily taboo bandwagon lately,” Woole said.
The review site has also seen an increase in content which bucks “gonzo” tendencies, in favor of what some old-school fans may see as a more “traditional” kind of porn.
“Apart from (fauxcest), sites that produce porn with more detailed stories or narratives seem to be on the rise,” Woole added. “VR has been another trend in the last two years, although in 2018 we’ve been seeing less new sites launching in this genre.”
