Women of Victoria’s Secret Goes Beyond Lingerie on Playboy.com
COLUMBUS, OH — A day before the Los Angeles fashion runway was set to overflow with super slender Victoria’s Secret supermodels, Playboy.com launched its “The Real Women of Victoria’s Secret” feature.Although each featured beautiful women in various stages of undress, the bare beauties appearing on the web pages of Playboy.com won’t be found in of the company’s catalogues or promotional posters.
“Victoria’s Secret catalogues are iconic and the models in them are some of the most gorgeous women in the world,” Playboy.com editor John Thomas said in a company issued statement. “But because we’ve noticed so many beautiful women working in Victoria’s Secret stores, we wanted to turn the tables and give them a chance to pose, as well.”
Although about 100 women applied for the modeling opportunities, only five were ultimately chosen to have still and moving pictures taken of them progressing sexily down a runway, sometimes wearing lingerie — and sometimes not.
Among that number is part-time employee 19-year-old Kimberlee Ann, who says that the personal attention given by stylists and photographers alike made the experience easy for her. “From the moment they called me until now, I was just thrilled with excitement. I’ve been on a ride this whole time. I’ve always wanted to pose for Playboy, but I never thought I would get to do it.”
The ladies of lingerie land will join a growing number of beautiful, everyday women working for major companies who have had the unexpected chance to grace the computer generated pages of Playboy.com, including women from Home Depot, McDonalds, and Wal-Mart.
Given the popularity of using non-models for their shoots, Playboy.com representative Theresa Hennessey says “We’re always looking out for that next big pop culture thing.”
