Witches Sabbath Screening Set for High Satanic Holiday
LOS ANGELES, CA — While most of America sits mindlessly in front of its various television screens on April 30th, a select few citizens in a select few cities will celebrate the high Satanic holiday of Walpurgis Night by viewing Shane Bugbee’s adult directorial debut release, CLUB SATAN: The Witches Sabbath.According to an Extreme Associates press release, Walpurgis Night has been celebrated for centuries as a witches’ holiday. Named after Saint Walburga, who died in 779, the holiday appears on the traditional Catholic calendar, although some areas honor her canonization on May 1st. It has historically been a pagan day of spring celebration featuring bonfires and fertility rites. Anton Szandor LaVey chose Walpurgis Night in 1966 as the date for founding his Church of Satan, which counts director Bugbee as a clergy member.
New York City, Chicago, Detroit, and Ashbury, NJ have been selected as cities strong enough to withstand the world premier of Bugbee’s much anticipated, first-ever officially Satanic adult video, which the company bills as being “the most shocking and controversial adult film to be released in years.”
Further described as a release viewed as “‘hardcore pornography’ by the mainstream and an ‘art film’ by the porn community,” the pre-release hype promises courageous viewers a night’s entertainment that “violates every taboo and crushes the false morality of modern day America.”
Available in two versions, an XXX and unrated Director’s Cut, the Walpurgis Night audiences will view the latter, which includes a soundtrack by cutting edge dark rock bands including Dark Funeral, Society 1, and Acheron. Viewers will experience what is billed as being “a look inside a real Black Mass” complete with “piss, blood, fisting, fucking, and Blasphemy” that is “not a movie for the faint of heart” or the “casual viewer.” Indeed, according to promotional materials, the video will present the general viewing public with the first opportunity to witness an authentic Black Mass since LaVey’s Satanis more than 30 years ago.
Screenings will take place in New York City at the MF Gallery at 157 Rivington Street, in Chicago at Odd Obsession at 1822 N. Milwaukee, in Detroit at Noir Leather at 124 W. Fourth Street in Royal Oak, and in Ashbury Park, NJ at Cry Baby Gallery at 06 Cookman Avenue. An after party celebration is planned in Chicago at Exit 1315 W. North Avenue.
Future screenings are planned for Los Angeles, CA; Las Vegas, NV; Salt Lake City, UT; Atlanta, GA; Austin, TX; and Portland, OR.
Director Bugbee, who co-wrote his first release with wife Amy, is excited about the evening’s offering and the chance to introduce the world to his erotic vision. “I look forward to all of the upcoming screenings of CLUB SATAN: The Witches Sabbath,” he assures. “For me, it’s an opportunity to show off something that I’ve had a hand in that actually lives up to my hype.”
The femme Bugbee joins her husband in his enthusiasm, proposing that “maybe sometime soon XXX movie houses will make a return like burlesque has.”
