Cherie DeVille, porn activist and a regular contributor to the news site, The Daily Beast, has a brand new opinion piece available now. “J.D. Vance Is Coming for Your Porn–Watch Out” tackles the calls of banning all porn.

Cherie starts her article by talking about how 2022 was the best and worst year for the industry. OnlyFans has become a lucrative option for the industry that has been plagued by online piracy. But, there’s a growing threat from politicians who are calling for bans on porn and sexual content.

But, Cherie feels that 2023 may be worse than prior years. Conservative politician J.D. Vance is calling for a nationwide ban on porn, blaming porn for destroying families. Josh Hawley, another conservative and high-profile political rapper Ye (fka Kanye West) has also expressed anti-porn tropes.

Cherie continues her thoughts by expressing that these ideas are no longer on the fringe and are becoming more mainstream. While Cherie has built her brand in her tenure in the industry, she fears new performers may feel the consequences of outlawing porn.

“I will continue to use my voice and my status in the industry to call out those who want to end the industry I love,” said Cherie. “Calls for banning porn have been around forever, but now more than ever sex workers and performers need to make our voices heard.”
