When Pigs Fly: Metro Pounces on ‘Pink Pig’ Controversy
YNOT – The Flying Pink Pig, an adult DVD that generated controversy when the owner of a catering truck used as a set attempted to halt the film’s release because of potential adverse effects on his business, will hit the streets Feb. 8 in the wake of a national media feeding frenzy. Zagat, the Los Angeles Times, Huffington Post and TMZ, among others, have chimed in so far.
Because no amount of tongue-in-cheek attention is ever enough, Metro Media Entertainment, in conjunction with Cal-Vista Distribution and award-winning director Erica McLean’s Cheeky Monkey Productions, have mounted a contest that will give away a fantasy trip to Los Angeles, where the movie was filmed.
The “When Pigs Fly” contest will award one lucky winner an all-expenses-paid trip for two during which the recipients will spend an “a la carte” evening with one of the movie’s stars. The winner may choose the girl — Sunny Lane, Nicki Hunter, Cytheria or Sasha Heart — the activities and the hotel. One thousand dollars in spending money is part of the package.
To enter, visit the contest’s page at MetroMovies.com and complete the menu-like entry form. The cast of the The Flying Pink Pig will pick the most enthusiastic response to the question “Why should we choose you?” and the winner will be announced March 1.
In addition to the grand prize, another, more mysterious prize is offered for those who participate in the movie’s social-networking promotion on Twitter and Facebook. “Liking” Metro’s Facebook fan page and tweets mentioning @metro_movies count as entries.
Both contests are open to men and women 18 years of age and older.
According to a Metro press release, “The Flying Pink Pig is packed with fun-loving, sex-crazed nymphomaniacs serving recipes guaranteed to make the customer come again and again. Led by owner Sunny Lane, the sex-filled adventures explode when Ron Jeremy and Nikki Hunter set their sights on a hostile takeover to make ‘the pig’ and all its goodies their very own. …[Y]ou’ll never look at sausage the same way again.”
