What You Should Expect from an Adult Site Broker
I started writing this after responding to a post on a board asking what my work schedule was. I really had to think about that. I don’t have a work schedule. I work until everything gets done. Every day is different.
So, I started to think about what people should expect from a website broker and I decided to put it down on paper.
First off, you should expect honesty and integrity. If you submit a site to a broker that you’d like to sell, the broker needs to be honest with you about both the real value in today’s market as well as what the site’s marketability is.
Telling someone that a site is worth more than it is or that it is likely to sell when it isn’t does neither the seller or the broker any good.
If you see a site listed on Adult Site Broker, you can be sure that we’ve done a full vetting and valuation of the site and that the price we’re asking for is a fair one. We don’t overprice things, even if our clients request it. That wouldn’t be fair to the seller, the buyers or to us.
Second, you should expect the broker to work hard for you. Really that should go without saying, but you’d be surprised at the stories I’ve heard. We tend to hear from many sellers who have dealt with other brokers, hadn’t had success and now need our help.
Website brokering has no guarantees for us, the broker. If the site doesn’t sell, we don’t get paid for any of our work. Now a broker can approach that two ways. One way would be to take on as many listings as possible and sit on them until something sells. The right way is to only take on quality sites to sell and work our butts off to get them sold. It should be obvious what choice we’ve made. This is part of the reason we have a minimum value of 50,000 dollars on the sites we list for sale.
When you list a website or company at Adult Site Broker, we blast it out to our newsletter list of over 9,000 adult industry professionals. Then every other week we include your listing in our newsletter to the same list. Of course, we post it on our website. We Tweet out your listing on a regular basis. We feature it on our podcast, Adult Site Broker Talk. We purchase advertising to promote it to the YNOT.com mailing list. And of course, we introduce it to our contacts who are interested in your type of website or company. When we’re at events we talk to potential buyers about your listing. In other words, we market the heck out of it. This process is usually successful.
Third, you should expect prompt communication. If you send us an email, you’re going to hear from us pretty much right away. I may be in Thailand, but I don’t let my time zone impact the customer service my company provides. If I’m on an airplane (which I often am) and don’t have internet on the flight, I’ll reply at my connection or destination.
Fourth, you should expect your broker to be there with you every step of the way. We explain the entire process to you and are always available to answer any questions you might have. If you need any help or guidance, you should expect your broker to provide it. That includes referrals to attorneys and other professionals who can assist you.
That’s what to expect from an adult site broker and that’s what we provide.
