Website Aims to ‘Teach the Business of Porn’
LOS ANGELES – New website Porndemy.com aims to become the go-to resource for those who think they want a career in porn. The site offers more than 120 videos and detailed tutorials designed to help porn-hopefuls navigate the industry’s treacherous waters.
In beta mode since February, the project covers three segments of the adult entertainment industry: performing, producing and distributing. Topics range from performance tips and negotiating contracts to making money with adult websites.
Porndemy (short for “porn academy”) was created by people who previously developed courses for organizations and universities of applied sciences, according to a prepared statement. The producers claim they meticulously researched the industry and then condensed what they learned into short, straightforward instructional videos.
“The videos at Porndemy are filled with straightforward tutorials and serve people with a short attention span,” a spokesperson said. “If the student needs more information, Pordemy also includes text tutorials that delve deeper into each subject.”
According to the spokesperson, the Netflix documentary Hot Girls Wanted served as a springboard for the project. Allegedly, the film presented a look at the inside workings of the adult industry. The result was less than positive, leaving viewers with an impression the industry is a cesspool filled with sleazy abusers who prey on the uninformed and naïve.
“Like it or not, thousands of people join the adult industry each year,” the Porndemy representative said. “The best way to keep these young girls and boys safe is to educate them on all parts of the industry before joining.”
