Webbilling.com Provides iPhone Join Page
YNOT – Payment service provider Webbilling.com has added a join page designed to increase conversions of potential members who access websites via iPhones.“As more and more users search for and enter their preferred websites via their iPhones, merchants need the ability to accept payments by all methods on the iPhone, as well,” a spokesman for the European specialist in non-credit-card payments said.
Statistics offered by AdMob.com indicate that in 2009 the iPhone enjoyed a significant lead in the worldwide smartphone market. AdMob’s stats indicate 65 percent of those who surfed the mobile web during 2009 did so on an iPhone. By region, the U.S. and Western European countries led the pack in iPhone uptake.
“As we all know, the easier it is for the visitor to pay, the easier the join,”, JoeD, Webbilling.com’s chief of marketing, said. “It is mandatory to cater to the surfing needs of every user online when it comes to billing. If your site has been created iPhone-friendly but the billing page doesn’t work properly on the device, you are not helping your conversions and maximizing revenue.”
Webbilling.com offers two billing methods for European users: Direct Debit, which withdraws funds directly from the end-user’s bank account, and Advanced Direct Pay, which allows users to wire money from their bank accounts to the online publisher’s. More payment methods are under development, JoeD said.
“Education in the credit and debt culture in Europe is the first step in understanding how the Webbilling.com solutions can add significant revenue to the bottom line of every e-commerce enterprise with EU traffic, without cannibalizing merchants’ credit card sales,” he noted. “These potential non-card users are in your current traffic, and merchants must ensure they are able to take their payments — including payments while surfing on the iPhone.”
