Web Series Cam_Girlfriend to Screen at Miami Web Fest
Cam_Girlfriend, a 10-episode web series that follows the misadventures of a Chaturbate broadcaster (starring Lily LaBeau), has been named an official selection for Miami Web Fest.
Founded in 2014, Miami Web Fest is an international film festival for web series which runs from Sept. 29 through Oct. 2 in Miami. Official selections will be screened to the public.
“It’s always a wonderful feeling when people recognize something you worked hard to create,” said Daniel AM Rosenberg, director of Cam_Girlfriend. “From the start, Chaturbate and The Independent Production Fund have supported us as we brought this series to life, and the fact that several outside organizations and outlets have honored the series with awards and selections is nothing short of amazing.”
Created by Ethan Cole, written by Cole and Michael Goldlist and directed by Rosenberg— Cam_Girlfriend depicts life as a cam girl in a humorous, tongue-in-cheek way. The series’ producers are Goldlist, Rosenberg and Jason Kennedy. Cam_Girlfriend was made possible by Canada’s Independent Production Fund.
In addition to the official selection in Miami Web Fest, the series was awarded Best Directing – Comedy for Rosenberg. Cam_Girlfriend was also nominated for Best Comedy Series, Best Writing – Comedy for Cole and Goldlist, Best Lead Actor – Comedy for David Keystone, and Best Lead Actress – Comedy for Lily LaBeau at the ISAs.
The series also won the Web series Canada Spotlight awards at the eighth annual T.O. WebFest and has received nominations from the Minnesota and Santa Monica WebFest Awards. Further film festival selections include the Buenos Aires International Film Festival in their Web Series category and the New Zealand and Sydney WebFest.
