VR Solution Available for Mobile Web Browsers
TAMPA, Fla. – A company specializing in virtual-reality solutions has developed software allowing adult websites to stream 3D virtual reality content to mobile devices without downloading helper apps or installing third-party software.
According to a spokesperson for VR Innovation, the company’s product uses head tracking technology and works within the web browser. Users simply point, click and instantly stream high-resolution 3D VR video content.
The VR market is poised for growth, as evidenced by heavy investment in the space by tech giants including Google and Samsung. As it did with standard web content, however, the mobile market lags significantly behind in technology and service providers.
Part of the problem is that 3D VR video files are extremely large due to their high resolution. Although VR video content can be consumed on mobile devices, current technologies require viewers to download large video files onto their mobile devices and access them via third-party software, which may not be compatible with the VR video file type. Mobile device storage capacity, bandwidth requirements and file-compatibility issues all have the potential to ruin the end-user experience. VR Innovation believes it has solved all the problems.
The companys web software supports multiple platforms (Samsung Galaxy S6, Samsung Note 4, Samsung Gear VR, Android OS, Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, iPhone 6, iPod 5, iPad, PC, Laptop, etc.), numerous projections (180, 360, SBS 3D, Red & Cyan 3D, 2D, 180 and 360 video) in all HTML5-supported formats including MP4, WebM, and Ogv, and iOS inline video (pinning to home screen not necessary).
