VRBangers Reveals New Head Rig – and Creepy Doll Heads Used as Old Rig
VR Bangers, a leading VR porn production and distribution company based in Los Angeles, recently unveiled the concept design for the next big thing in filming smut in virtual reality: the VR helmet known as “Head Rig 2.0.”
The helmet will feature two microphones, as well as seven cameras positioned to capture a 300-degree field of vision. The cameras will transmit to interior screens inside so that the performer wearing the helmet can see what’s happening in real time, even though their eyes will be covered. And, for the first time, their lips will be easily accessible for costars to kiss, VR Bangers’ CTO Xander Jones told the Mirror.
The camera lenses have been hailed as making the helmet “spider-like” and “terrifying.” But frankly, we think it’s much sexier than what the company had been using previously—a hairless doll head with cameras for eyes, which “looks like it’s about to get ferried across the river of the dead in the underworld,” as Claire Reilly put it for CNET. She was not wrong. Behold:
And, though the VR helmet might be impressive, the real story here is that VR porn stars have been making love to the disembodied doll head from Toy Story for years, folks. And nobody even knew. VR porn stars—we salute you. You’re damn good at what you do.
Consumers, if you’ve been watching VR Bangers material over the past few years, we invite you to reflect upon the fact that in every scene you’ve enjoyed, at least one unfortunate porn star was getting their freak on to the soulless eyes of a camera-eyed mannequin head out of your worst nightmare. So, if ever you find yourself in a conversation with someone who’s questioning the professionalism, work ethic, or acting ability of porn stars, we invite you to refer them to the photograph above. And then to place a large wager that they would not be able to do the same.
Designed specifically to record sexual encounters in VR at up to 8K resolution, the patent-pending Head Rig 2.0 is, at least for now, available only for proprietary use by VR Bangers. But given that, historically, technological advances have usually been pioneered first by porn, we can see a world where these “spider-eye” helmets are used for all kinds of VR filming, from sex to parkour to mainstream cinema.
