LOS ANGELES – Venerable adult filmmaker Viv Thomas has sold his eponymous official website in preparation for his retirement from the industry.

On Wednesday, the MetArt Network announced it had acquired VivThomas.com, which MetArt has managed since January 2013. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

According to MetArt Chief Operating Officer Shaun Lenihan, the change in ownership will have no effect on existing VivThomas.com affiliates.

A fixture in the international adult market since the early 1980s, Thomas created an instantly recognizable style in the high-end erotica market.

“In collaboration with his wife and a support crew of artists and technicians, the Viv Thomas brand delivers beautiful people in wonderful places and combines passionate, explicit action with intense, pure emotion,” a MetArt statement noted. “Long recognized as a leader and innovator of lesbian erotica, VivThomas.com also offers boy-girl content, further broadening the appeal of the brand.”
