BRUNN AM GEBIRGE, Austria – UPC Hungary, a provider of video, internet and land-line telephony and virtual internet mobile services, has tapped European carrier-billing and mobile-messaging specialist DIMOCO to implement mobile payment services across UPC’s network.

With its portfolio enriched by the addition of virtual mobile network capabilities, UPC realized offering customers the opportunity to pay for products and services in a variety of ways was of paramount importance. DIMOCO will process all premium SMS transactions for UPC.

A recent report from Juniper Research indicated carrier billing is the No. 1 payment method in Europe. According to Juniper’s analysis, carrier billing conversion rates may be as much as 60 percent higher than when credit cards alone are offered to mobile consumers.
