The site has also seen profits increase since the hi-def chat rooms were launched.

“People are jaded now by the state of the art in live video,” Prince observes. “We have to give them something new. Choppy silent video doesn’t cut it anymore. Everyone expects the standard screen format and smooth video. So we’re here to blow their minds all over again.”

Experimenting with the new high-def software is a natural extension of the site’s willingness to play with new technology. Prince says that LiveCamNetwork was the first adult chat site on the web to take advantage of DSL/broadband speeds, so running video at 30-frames-per-second is a natural step.
