Victoria’s Secret Targeted in Utah … Again
OREM, UT — Decent citizens of Orem, UT, unite! Your brethren are fighting the smut wars without you.About two dozen morally outraged residents of Orem and the surrounding area converged on the notorious den of iniquity Victoria’s Secret last week in order to protect children from the scourge that is lingerie.
“The [on-site and through-the-mail] advertising is inappropriate for children,” Aaron Bylund, 26 and one of the organizers of the protest, told OneNewsNow.com. “It’s not healthy for children.”
Not only that, but the store’s displays of undergarments are shameful, he contended.
“We have millions of children every day walking past Victoria’s Secret displays in the mall,” Bylund said. “They’re seeing them on television, and they’re simply unprepared for the sexual, provocative nature of those images.”
The provocative advertising and open displays of lingerie should be stopped nationwide, Bylund said.
“You know, this is an opportunity for us to really be bold and take courage and to realize we’re accountable for our children’s future and their lives and the way our country goes,” he told OneNewsNow. “Forget about whether or not things are popular [or] what our friends are going to think about it, and let’s simply be brave and make the best decision for our families and children.”
According to the website, “some of the group’s picketing has been conducted in subfreezing temperatures.”
