Variety: MindGeek CEO and COO Have Resigned
In an article published Tuesday, Variety reports that CEO Feras Antoon and David Tassillo, the CEO and COO of Pornhub parent company MindGeek, have resigned from the company, quoting a statement provided to the outlet by MindGeek that confirms the departure of the longtime executives.
“Antoon and Tassillo leave MindGeek’s day-to-day operations after more than a decade in leadership positions with the company,” an unidentified company representative said, according to Variety. “With the company strategically positioned for long-term growth, MindGeek’s executive leadership team will run day-to-day operations on an interim basis, with a search underway for replacements.” The representative also told Variety that the change in the company’s leadership has been planned since early this year.
Antoon and Tassillo’s departure comes just over week after the publication of a New Yorker investigative article, “The Fight to Hold Pornhub Accountable“, which relies largely on information provided by anti-porn activists and organizations like Laila Mickelwait, Exodus Cry and The National Center on Sexual Exploitation. Following the publication of the New Yorker article, the Free Speech Coalition issued a response calling the New Yorker’s praise for the anti-porn groups “disgraceful.”
