Utherverse Launches Virtual World $1-per-Download Affiliate Program
YNOT – Utherverse, creator of 3D virtual world Red Light Center, has launched an affiliate program paying $1 per download. Webmasters may direct traffic to any property in Utherverse’s realm and receive $1 for each software download their referrals generate.
Affiliates may build their own customized, branded virtual worlds to which to send traffic or funnel the traffic to one of the the 50,000 existing environments in the virtual world network VWW. According to Chief Executive Officer Brian Shuster, building a virtual world within Utherverse’s universe is easier than building a website. The property can offer whatever a webmaster wants, including his or her own content, ads for third parties, stores or any other venture. Adult-oriented virtual realities are hot and growing hotter, Shuster said, citing Red Light Center’s more than 6 million registered users as an example.
“This [affiliate] program allows webmasters to have complete control over what happens to the traffic they send,” he said. “Webmasters are no longer sending traffic away through ads, but rather sending the traffic to another part of their own enterprise, where the users will come back over and over again with far greater stickiness than any website can offer. And we’re paying them to do it.”
He added that several major companies already have created worlds that offer brand-name movie theaters, retail shops, adult toy stores, clothing stores, live “webcam allies” and other offers that link to their accounts with other affiliate programs.
“Utherverse member retention is unlike any other in the online world,” Utherverse President Zak Zarry said. “Users sign up for $20 per month to access the world network, and they are so satisfied we end up keeping them as paid members, often for many years.”
