Upcoming Game Soulmask Invites Players to Test Unique Survival Mechanics in Global Beta
SINGAPORE — Qooland Games announced today that its highly anticipated open-world survival game, Soulmask, will hold a global open beta from May 1st to May 10th on Steam. This playtest follows a successful 40-hour demo during the Next Fest, where 180,000 participants engaged deeply with the game, contributing to over 470,000 hours of gameplay.
Soulmask, set for a full release in June 2024, offers players a sandbox environment where they can explore dynamic tribal management, engage in physics-based combat, and utilize a unique mask system that allows for control of non-playable characters. The game’s mask feature lets players possess NPCs, taking on their physical form and abilities, which range from stealth to launching precision attacks.
The game also introduces a complex tribal system where players can recruit and manage up to 20 unique tribesmen, each with individual traits and skills. This system supports a high level of automation and customization, from farming to defense strategies.
The combat system in Soulmask allows for a variety of fighting styles with 8 weapon types and 67 skills, including specialized techniques for each weapon, enhancing the tactical depth of encounters.
Wing, the Head of Marketing at Soulmask, expressed gratitude for the community’s feedback from the earlier demo, which has led to significant game improvements, such as making all terrains climbable. “Our team, with over a decade of experience in MMORPGs, is thrilled with the player feedback and engagement. This is our first PC title, and the community’s input has been invaluable in refining the game,” Wing said.
The beta test is open for registration on Steam, where players can also add Soulmask to their wishlist in anticipation of the official launch.
