University Offers Porn Appreciation Course
TAIWAN — A Taiwanese university founded by Catholic nuns has begun offering a course in porn appreciation and analysis.During the course, which the Mass Communication Department of Providence University opened this semester, students learn to analyze audiences’ psychological responses to pornography from an academic perspective. In order to pass, they must undergo a 15-minute oral examination during which they extemporaneously present what they have learned.
Students who find the elective class too explicit after enrollment may opt to drop it without penalty. Assistant Professor Miss Chen Mingmei said none of the 50 students has dropped yet, although some have covered their eyes during screenings.
Most of the students admitted they have watched porn before, but they haven’t yet told their parents the details about their course lineup this semester.
“If I get a very good score in this course, I don’t know how I’ll explain it to my parents,” one student told United News Daily.
Another admitted, “I am really worried my parents will see the score report when it is mailed home. I won’t know what to say if I get a high score; however if I fail the course, I can speak to my parents and suggest that maybe I should watch more porn.”
