Uncensored Explicit Titles for Adult Gamers
MONTREAL – Nutaku, a platform for adult gaming, has launched what the company believes is the first e-tail storefront devoted solely to sexually explicit games that may be downloaded or played online.
Located at Nutaku.net, the store offers titles from American and Japanese companies including Overdrive and Moonstone, all at a discount of 20-50 percent off list price. Categories run the spectrum from visual novels to fast-paced arcade fighters, strategy adventures and multiplayer virtual realms.
Founded and staffed by gamers, Nutaku launched the store in response to mainstream platform Steam’s unwillingness to deal in uncensored adult games.
“The Nutaku store is a direct response to the high level of content restriction on distribution services such as Steam,” spokesman Robert Mann said. “With this new service, adult game developers will no longer be forced to choose between mass distribution or compromising their artistic vision. We want to give both fans and creators a censorship-free space to collaborate.”
Nutaku’s store offers complete copies of hit titles that don’t require extensive patching to unlock adult content. Mann said censored content is a common complaint from those who buy games through mainstream distribution services.
Nutaku’s primary focus on launch in late 2014 was assisting game developers with hosting and monetizing their products for English-speaking players. Since then, the company’s Nutaku.com has grown to more than 13 million users per month by hosting online games with an adult focus. Partnered with Japanese gaming giant DMM, Nutaku serves as a conduit for overseas game developers whose products are considered too controversial or explicit for traditional North American game distributors.
The company’s affiliate program is managed by MindGeek’s Adult Force.
