UK Company Offers Revenue Opportunity during U.S. Moratorium
LONDON – Even during a filming shutdown, people need to earn a living. Although the offer seems just shy of mercenary, an online firm based in the UK is reminding U.S. performers and agents they don’t have to be sidelined by the health-related production moratorium called for on Friday by the Free Speech Coalition.
Customs4U, a newcomer offering patent-pending technology for marketing custom-made video clips, said Monday that a halt to U.S. studio production needn’t impact performers’ and agents’ bank accounts in a negative way.
“We fully support moratoriums, such as the one currently in effect, as they are extremely important to maintain the health of the entire adult industry,” Customs4U founder and Chief Executive Officer Tim Stokely said. “However, the aftershock effects in terms of profits cannot be ignored. A moratorium means performers are unable to work, and agents don’t make their commissions. Distributors and production companies may then miss a release date a month from now, which then trickles down to content being unavailable to consumers.
“Customs4U mitigates a large percentage of that loss by allowing talent to continue to work by creating made-to-order solo content for their fan base using their mobile device,” he continued. The online resource “also offers a white-label solution for agencies, providing them with a fully branded version of the custom video site, which allows agencies to fully utilize their talent roster and capitalize from the increasing demand for custom video content. Production companies with contract performers may do the same. In this way, Customs4U allows the industry to keep their losses as low as possible during work stoppages such as moratoriums.”
The website provides a portal through which customers may submit requests for personalized videos. The performers they choose create scenario consumers design. A variety of fetishes and scripts are offered. Performers agree to return the completed project to the consumer on or before a specified deadline.
Mitigating the need for webcams, studios and other high-cost equipment, the site allows models to create and upload scenes using nothing more than their smartphones or tablets, thereby minimizing overhead. Uploaded videos are transferred to the customer’s account automatically upon upload.
According to Stokely, the site also minimizes the threat of piracy. Performers retaining sole copyright to their work while creating a direct revenue stream. Models set their own prices and behavioral limits.
Stokely said more than 400 models have created profiles at Customs4U.
