Twink Tryst Territory Turns Ten
MONTREAL – Websites celebrating a decade online aren’t quite as rare as they once were; nevertheless, a 10th anniversary calls for celebration.
On April 25, the guys at web-based gay studio BoyCrush began one long party to celebrate the company’s first decade and get the second off to a rip-roaring start.
“I started BoyCrush during the dot com boom and was so grateful that the support of fans meant it survived the economic downturn,” said owner Bryan Kenny. “The continued success of the site over the last 10 years has offered me so many amazing experiences and lasting friendships.”
During its first decade, the site released regular photo and video updates with some of the most popular twinks in the business. Currently, members enjoy solo updates every other Tuesday, with fan favorites and fresh faces playing with toys or giving interviews.
On Fridays, BoyCrush updates with a hardcore duo scene, often coming from its bareback line, BareTwinks. The end of 2014 saw BoyCrush release its 1,000th update. Kenny has led the behind-the-scenes crew since the beginning, with the assistance of Andy Kay and Phillip Ashton.
In recent years, the studio has become notorious for adventurous DVD releases. Kenny and crew are more than fond of skewering mainstream hits and misses with a decidedly gay twist. Under Kay’s direction, the studio has produced award-winning parodies of pop-culture phenomena including superheroes (Captain Americock), literature (Where the Wild Twinks Are), can’t-stay-out-of-trouble pop stars (Bustin Beeber: Never Say Never) and horror films (Nightmare of Twink Street).
As part of the 10[SUP]th[/SUP] anniversary celebration, on May 1 BoyCrush will release a never-before-seen scene starring Kyler Moss and Ethan Fox. In addition, the studio is passing out DVDs as thank-you gifts to all new and recurring members through May 24.
BoyCrushCash, the affiliate program representing the studio’s online ventures, pays a 50-percent recurring revenue share.
