Turnkey Video-Chat Software Returns from the Dead
LAS VEGAS – Three years after developers pulled the plug on a customizable, turnkey adult video-chat platform, the system has returned in a new version they claim is the most advanced product of its kind.
OdysseyCam Enterprise Edition v7.0 offers a scalable, modular system built on node.js. The platform can be customized to the customer’s specifications and integrates Zombaio for credit card processing.
Although cloud-based hosting is available for the product, the latest-and-greatest version allows customers to run the system on their own server. Chief Executive Officer Jeffrey Miller said the feature has been on the drawing board for quite some time.
“A lot of customers like the security of knowing the system they purchase is [under] their control,” Miller said. “The main issue we had was how to maintain quality support on non-managed systems while protecting our proprietary code, which has been well thought out.”
The solution, he added, was to add tiered support contracts for host-your-own systems.
In addition to a new system interface, OdysseyCam v7.0 also offers 16:9 high-definition video, resizable video screen, responsive design, a tipping feature, real-time status updates, multiple simultaneous cam-to-cam broadcasts and a geo-IP blocking system.
Mobile-readiness, group sessions, private messaging and affiliate capabilities are in development, Miller said.
While the product is in beta, the company is offering a price of $2,500. When the beta period ends, the price will rise to $15,000.
