TSA Announces Approved “Checkpoint Friendly” Laptops Bags
WASHINGTON, DC — Sick and tired of hauling your expensive laptop out of its travel case every time you endure another trip through airport security? Fear not! The good people at the Transportation Security Administration have heard your many cries of frustration and outrage. Ever since August 16th, passengers moving however slowly through security have been able to – at least theoretically – avoid having to fumble for their laptops along with their shoes, jackets, and carry-on luggage.
Travelers with “checkpoint friendly” cases that provide clear, unobstructed views of their contents as they move along the X-ray machine’s conveyer belt need not remove their laptops before submitting them for inspection.
The characteristics of a “checkpoint friendly” case include an exclusively laptop-only section that can be laid flat on the X-ray machine belt. It also contains no metal zippers, snaps, or buckles – and no pockets.
According to Time, TSA recommended brands include Mobile Edge, Skooba Design, and Targus, Inc.
