Traffic Brokerage Appoints Merdock General Manager
TORONTO – Grand Slam Media has named industry veteran Robert Merdock general manager. With just shy of two decades of experience in both mainstream and adult industry advertising and media sales, Merdock is tasked with boosting growth and helming the launch of the traffic brokerage’s new platform.
“It is undeniable that GSM has the most cohesive and charismatic team of any advertising company in the business,” Merdock said. “The entire crew has committed everything to the industry and making it better.
“I love these people for their focus and am looking forward to further organizing and optimizing our productivity and delivery as we venture forth to new horizons, especially as we get closer to our big upcoming launch,” he added.
In addition to hiring Merdock, GSM also promoted three key staff members: Kelan Stone, Andrew R. and Chris Coupland.
Stone was appointed director of sales. Formerly a collegiate athletics coach, Stone was among GSM’s initial employees.
“The opportunity to drive this sales ship is one that I could not turn down, he said. “Our sales team is comprised of rock stars, making my job easy, but it is my duty and commitment to heighten GSM’s reach and inspire consistent growth quarter after quarter.”
Andrew R. is now senior sales executive. According to a statement from the company, “Andrew catapulted himself from a ‘newbie’ to a sophisticated and strategic sales executive in a matter of months. Now in his third year at GSM, Andrew leads sales with his sharp and decisive vision and is a consistent producer blasting past his personal sales goals and aiding his teammates in exceeding their revenue objectives every quarter.”
GSM appointed Coupland, a 10-year veteran of the online adult industry, director of operations. He will focus on the new technology arm the company plans to introduce in the near future. GSM’s Luke Hazelwood described Coupland as “one of the pillars of the company.”
“I’m an avid sports fan, and we all know that there is no ‘I’ in team,” Hazelwood said. “It has taken some trial and tribulation, hires and fires, but I am pumped because I know we have it right now.
“We are thrilled to have someone like Robert on our team to lend his hand in pulling everything together for a more cohesive and efficient company,” he continued. “Kelan and Andrew are poised to lead the sales team to new frontiers, and Chris is integral to the new solutions we are bringing to market. When you think of key people in this business, you think of those four. I am happy to see them all in positions of limitless growth.”
