Topco Breaks Ground on Domestic Laboratory
LOS ANGELES – Topco has broken ground on a new state-of-the-art laboratory boasting 7,000 square feet of space and FDA 501(k) certification. A spokesperson for the company said the move will allow the manufacturer to expand its catalog and increase its private-label business.
In addition to manufacturing its own pleasure products, Topco create branded lubricants, lotions, enhancements, over-the-counter supplements and cosmetics for other companies.
“Our new facility follows local and national regulatory direction and permits Topco to make processed foods, cosmetics, drugs and devices in the state of California,” Chief Executive Officer Autumn O’Bryan said. “We also have retained FDA registration for the manufacture and distribution of medical devices, a major move for our company that allows virtually limitless opportunities for expanding our [research and development], product development and private label departments.
“With demand for domestically produced, FDA-compliant intimate products at an all-time high, Topco’s new lab is perfectly timed to meet customers’ unique needs,” she added.
The new facility will double the size of the company’s current quality-control and R&D labs. An open floor plan will allow improved scaling of batch manufacturing, filling and packaging. In adherence to strict Ventura County, California, regulations, the facility also will include an upgraded sanitation system with features designed to improve and streamline the manufacturing process.
“Where other companies resort to larger-scale outsourcing, Topco chose to push ahead and open windows of opportunity that ultimately help us and our customers grow in this competitive market,” account manager and private label expert Omar Cantos said. “We are proud to make the first of many announcements to keep customers up to date on our new facility’s development and eventual ribbon-cutting ceremony.”
