YNOT – A British couple desperate to fund their dream wedding have taken a novel approach fundraising. In a case of life imitating art, Tommy Barnes and Lisa Brand are starring in a series of pornographic videos as a way to earn the money for a beachfront ceremony, reception and honeymoon.Brand, 34, said what started out as a lark has become surprisingly lucrative. The couple has earned more than £1,300 from the three X-rated movies released to date, and they plan to film four more.

Brand and Barnes have played a variety of roles in the distinctly amateur products, most of them centering on common sexual fantasies. In one scene, they pretended to be a photographer and his lingerie model. In another, they participated in a threesome. In a third, Brand spanked Barnes with a paddle before they dissolved into passionate lovemaking.

The couple, who have four children, even recreated a scene from the 1993 Madonna travesty, Body of Evidence. Brand dripped hot wax on Barnes’ chest in a cheap motel room.

According to Brand, the experience has been great fun.

“I was laughing my head off,” she told U.K. tabloid The Sun. “I have told my mum and most of my friends. They understand. It’s always been our dream to have a fairytale wedding.”

Barnes, 36, said the movies will become part of the couple’s legacy.

“It’s our five minutes of fame; something to look back on when we’re older,” he told The Sun. “It has brought us closer together.”

Reviewers, on the other hand, have not been entirely gracious.

“Okay, I know we’re all thinking the same thing at the same time, so let’s just come out with it: WHO THE FUCK IS BUYING THIS SHIT?!” blogger Michael K posted at dlisted.com, evidently unimpressed with the average-looking couple’s performances. “I mean, are Lisa and Tommy marketing their tapes as a bulimic’s most successful tool?

“You know what, though? Good for their freaky nasty asses,” he added. “If someone’s paying to see their nasties wrestle each other, then I say go for it.”

Barnes and Brand plan to be married in Cancun next June.
