Three New Websites Mark Penthouse’s 50th Anniversary
LOS ANGELES – Founded in 1965 by the late Bob Guccione, Penthouse magazine moved from its original home in the UK to the U.S. in 1969. The first American issue sold out within a matter of days, and the publication quickly became a head-to-head competitor for Hugh Hefner’s Playboy, albeit with a more overtly erotic tone.
As Penthouse prepares to celebrate its 50[SUP]th[/SUP] anniversary in 2015, the publishing company known for its fearless approach to sexuality and an unabashed support for contrarian political and social views, is expanding its presence online with the addition of three new websites that give glimpses behind the scenes.
PenthouseClubs.com is a comprehensive guide to the 16 Penthouse-branded adult nightclubs worldwide. Two new venues are expected to open in Atlanta and Chicago next year.
PenthouseLicensing.com offers businesses the opportunity to license one of the most recognized names in the world for merchandise and other products.
PenthousePopShots.com shares striking erotic images of some of the world’s most beautiful women shot by an eclectic mix of artists including Dave Navarro, Nikko Hurtado and Michael K. Williams.
The company’s affiliate program pays $75 per sign-up or up to 60-percent recurring revenue share for promoting more than 22 sites across several niches.
