YNOT – The sales biz ain’t what it used to be, as one South Carolina woman discovered recently when she attempted to drum up a little spare cash by selling porn door to door.

Gaffney, SC, police arrested Jeanette Ellis, 52, after she knocked at the wrong neighbor’s home and offered to sell the offended individual XXX-rated VHS tapes for $5 each. The neighbor called the cops.

Ellis told officers she discovered a large box of adult-oriented videotapes on the street near her home. Having heard the adult entertainment industry drives billions of dollars in revenue annually — though evidently unaware VHS players are virtual antiques — Ellis decided it would be irresponsible to allow the hardcore wares to go to waste.

The short-term entrepreneur was cited for soliciting sales without a license. Police seized 12 VHS tapes as evidence. Ellis was released from custody pending final disposition of the case.
