These Digs Aren’t Lurid — They’re Ghastly
LAS VEGAS – There are some things up with which a refined society should be required to put. Many of them may be viewed in all their ghastly glory on a website re-launched March 8.
To say LuridDigs.com shatters the gay-men-as-style-mavens myth would be an understatement of the highest magnitude. The individuals and their “digs” depicted on the site don’t merely wound the cultured sensibilities of fashion designers, stylists and interior artistes — they bludgeon said sensibilities to death, carve them up with a chainsaw and then toss the pieces down an outhouse hole.
The witty repartee of the analysts only partially soothes nerves rubbed raw by such blatant abuse of plaid. What has been seen cannot be unseen.
The new site is part blog, part tube and part membership site, giving visitors a variety of ways to experience painful lack of taste.
Because the site is marketed by GunzBlazing, affiliates may wish to profit from the train wreck of Pride gone bad.
“We’ve been looking for something a little different to add to the program,” said GunzBlazing president Robyn Way. “So, when [creator] David K. came to us with the idea of working together, we jumped at the chance. Apart from being highly amusing and one of ours — and apparently John Waters’s — favorite blogs, we saw a real opportunity to redevelop what a blog-site could contain.”
David K. — who should be forced to surrender his pink card this instant after subjecting the unsuspecting public to criminal clutter — admitted he’s been abusing his audience for 15 years.
“It’s hard to believe Lurid Digs will reach another milestone this year,” he said. “Fifteen years of consistently critiquing some of the most horrifying gay interior design on the planet. I believe that qualifies our writing team for a Pulitzer prize.
“To celebrate, it felt like the right time to redesign and reformat the site into an expanded version of itself, taking advantage of tube feeds and the high-quality streaming content GunzBlazing will offer our visitors,” David K. continued. “Our fan base is fierce and loyal, and I know they’ll love the new look, feel and vibe of the site. But the heart and soul of Lurid Digs remains the same.”
No one can blame the fans for being fierce. In fact, few would blame the fans should they turn on Mr. K. and maul him.
Affiliates earn commission not only on membership sales, but also on upsells in the site’s tube section.
