The Show Must Go On
YNOT – Despite the damage wrought by superstorm Sandy’s violent visit to the northeast U.S. on Monday, eXXXotica New Jersey will take place as scheduled, organizers said Wednesday.
“We have been in close contact with the New Jersey Expo Center following that skanky whore Sandy and are happy to report that eXXXotica New Jersey is 100-percent on,” a spokesperson for the event said. “Not only is the expo center going to be ready for us next weekend, but they have three events planned there this weekend. Now that is dedication.”
Sandy barreled ashore near Atlantic City, NJ, at high tide Monday night, battering much of the Eastern Seaboard and hundreds of miles inland with high winds, torrential rain and record flooding. By Wednesday morning, more than six million people across 17 states remained without power and 59 deaths had been blamed on the storm, according to the Associated Press. The cost of recovery is expected to top the $106 billion spent in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina’s assault on New Orleans in 2005.
eXXXotica will take place Nov. 9-11 in Edison, NJ, an inland transportation hub about 106 miles north of Atlantic City and about 33 miles southwest of New York City. NYC continues to dig out from under the 13-foot flood of seawater Sandy pushed into low-lying areas.
The November show will be the fifth annual in the same location. Organizers claim the New Jersey event typically is the largest of several they host around the country, bringing as many as 20,000 guests to the New Jersey Convention and Expo Center. Described as “a concert-like event with a sexy festival flair,” eXXXotica offers consumer-oriented entertainment, seminars and exhibits.
