The New Era Of Dialers: A Safe And Effective Way To Earn Money

Nowadays there are a lot of Webmasters who are looking for advertisers for their sites. The number of pay per click sponsors has decreased and most that are still working require a minimum conversion be achieved. So a plethora of pay per signup options remain, but what about dialers? A lot of Webmasters are afraid of using them because of the “infamy” that they have had in the last few years. But after a period of dark days the world of dialers seems to have changed.
There are a few large networks that established their businesses in the past few years and because they only pay on routes that provide revenues, using a dialer is a very safe and effective way to convert traffic into money.
There are two ways of using dialers: the first is when you have a working site (adult, but it can be mainstream) that accepts credit cards, and you want to maximize your earnings by adding a dialer as an alternative paying method; or the second is when you have traffic and want to earn money from it. Dialer companies are giving you content for free and you earn money for every single minute that a user has spent on your site.
So how does it work? A dialer is a small program (active-x in most cases so it’s running in the user’s browser window) that allows visitors to pay with their telephone bills instead of credit cards or checks. After the user accepts the charge, the program dials a special phone number and the surfer pays for every minute as long as he accesses the content. There are different per minute rates for each country and the rates are dependant on the dialer network too. Some networks have additional features (they accept alternate payment methods like PayPal, credit cards and SMS) and have different content to offer (multi-niche megasite, live girls, etc.), but the goal is to keep the user connected for a long time.
So, dialers are not only a legitimate payment option, they are one of the best. People who don’t have credit cards or prefer not to use them (or their credit card gets declined which is happening more often nowadays) get a discreet, anonymous and quality service that is easy to access. It is the top moneymaker in Europe where most people still don’t have credit cards and it can be used very effectively in the U.S. and Canadian markets because there are absolutely no chargebacks. Money is collected by international telephone companies so there is essentially very low risk of non-payment.
Another good thing about dialers is the way that you can promote them. The rules are very simple: you can use text links, banners, blind links, or any form of advertising. The only word that you cannot use is “free” (besides the general illegal descriptions like child porn, rape, bestiality, etc).
Choosing a dialer solution is not an easy task. Most Webmasters are only comparing per minute rates and choosing the dialer that pays the most, but there are more criteria they should consider. One of the most important things is the quality of the content of the dialer company, because it affects the holding time (the amount of time that a user spends on the site).
Just a quick example: one network offers a $1.00 per minute rate for a country but has an average holding time of three minutes. The other is offering $0.60 for the same country but it has an average holding time of seven minutes. That means you earn $1 x 3 = $3 for an average call with the first network while you earn $0.6 x 7 = $4.2 for an average call with the second. So it’s a lower per minute rate but you will earn much more at the end. The networks also have different routes for a call, which means that you may have more calls with one network than the other. This is an important thing to consider for those Webmasters who also have their own content. And finally, you have to check the number of countries that are included in the program. There are networks for example that are made for the European market specifically, so you can lose calls from outside Europe unless you have more than one dialer option on your site.
So how can you find the best solution? If you’d like to do this alone you’ll see that there are only a few dialer networks, but they have hundreds of brokers and resellers. You can easily recognize if a site is offering the same network by seeing its features or going to the stats page. In a normal case you’d have to search for these different networks which have different features and content, then sign up for them and give them a try. But there are brokers who offer multiple networks in one place with an intelligent routing system, which allows for the combining of networks based on the user’s originating country.
One fine example is our site FutureDialer which offers pre-made packages for Webmasters. The Easy Package is a simple solution for those who have a new site or have fewer visitors. For those who want to combine the networks, we offer the Value Package. This is based on our experiences of different networks comparing their rates, holding times and routes.
In part two we will compare each main network and introduce a new sub-account management technique which is the latest innovation in the dialer business and which can boost the dialer income of professional Webmasters.
