Swingers for over ten years, these “everyday neighbors with a secret wild side” are behind one of the most engaging and fun shows in the industry.

Launched just over a year ago, The Burghs who call one another Mr. and Mrs. have already made a splash with their sexy personal stories, interviews of celebrated adult performers and companies, and are doing their best – one bath at a time – to help normalize sexwork and a non-monogamous lifestyle.

How did you guys meet and why are you such a great team?

Boy is there a story!

We met on our first day of college in Providence, Rhode Island in August 1996. We lived in the same dorm down the hall from each other – Mrs. is from Connecticut I’m from Pennsylvania. Throughout the year we developed a friendship of casual conversations and hellos until April of that year when a blizzard hit, and the power was knocked out. I was a resident assistant, so I was put on fire/safety watch. I had to sit at the end of the hallway and there was absolutely nothing to do.

Until…

Mrs. joined me for an evening chatting, laughing, and putting snow down my back – I was oblivious to the flirting – even though it ended up in a snowball fight outside. The next morning there was still no power, so classes were canceled for a couple of days, but the airport was open, so I decided to fly back to Pittsburgh. About halfway through packing to leave Mrs. came into my room and asked what I was doing. When I told her I was flying home for the weekend, she said “You’re not going anywhere!”

Well, now it’s 2023, and I still haven’t gone anywhere.

We began swinging around 2010 after a lot of conversation and me introducing her (the innocent catholic schoolgirl) to the world of porn and sex toys. At that point, our relationship developed and became stronger. We’ve been through a lot and grown and we really just enjoy this venture – and we play well off of each other – I’m fast with the dirty one liners while Mrs. has that innocent naughtiness about her.

What was the impetus for starting In The Tub and how did you get it launched?

We began going to the Exxxotica Conventions back in 2018 after seeing it on social media and having a chance meeting with Dick Dangle from the Dangling After Dark podcast.

We became fast friends and during the event he graciously introduced us to numerous friends of his within the industry. We appeared on his show on two separate occasions to discuss swinging and a non-monogamous lifestyle and had a great time doing it. During the summer of 2021 during a conversation between the three of us the idea of In The Tub was born and began to blossom. We didn’t know much about producing, recording, editing, and hosting and we wouldn’t be where we are without his guidance.

The idea was two-fold from our end. Part one, share our stories and journey through the swinging lifestyle, while giving our tips and ideas. Part two, promotion and normalizing of the adult industry by talking with performers we’ve met at conventions and other industry people.

We finally got everything together and launched in January 2022. We’ve continued to produce an episode every week since.

Tell us about some of the best and/or most humorous experiences you’ve had on the podcast.

There have definitely been some fun times, some left in, some left out, some not recorded, some prior to or after the interview.

Madi Collins had only had her Saint Bernard puppy for a few days so during episode 42, you can hear him in the background wanting to play and begging for treats and cuddles. It just wanted attention. It was great, and we all laughed about it.

On two occasions during our Exxxotica interviews, Katie Morgan spun around to yell at Evan Stone to get something out of her booth and they went back and forth a few times. They are just great together, and you will always get a good laugh.

We also found out during one episode that background noise – even though you may not hear it – comes through on the microphone. We were in Florida visiting the Mrs.’ father who lives in horse country and has animals. We excused ourselves in the early afternoon to go out to the pool area and lay down 15-20 minutes of an episode that we needed to work on. After we edited it we realized Dolly the donkey was in the recording!

Talk about trying to boost self-confidence and get your listenership up when a jackass is laughing at you in the background!

What makes your podcast all worthwhile even if it’s a ton of work?

The friendships we’ve developed and the ability to share their interviews with the listeners.

It’s insane. We are an everyday couple living in western PA and we literally talk to some of the biggest and most sought-after people in the adult industry. People dream of the chance to just meet some of those we get to talk to at a convention and we have text conversations on a weekly basis just checking in like they are family, and… they truly are.

This industry is a family that welcomed and accepted us.

What goals do you have for 2023, personally and for the podcast?

A lot is happening in 2023.

Our son graduates high school and is currently finishing up sports season and college recruiting so that takes time. We have a lot of candles burning and are hoping to take a longer vacation than normal and cruise our camper out west. We’d like to hit Las Vegas, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Yellowstone, and San Diego. That’s the plan at least and we also hope to get to conventions and meet great people in the industry and lifestyle. Oh, maybe a trip to Hedonism as we’ve been asked to come check it out.

As for the podcast, our hope is to keep it growing and continue to bring performers, directors, producers and anyone in the industry with a story that would like to share it with our listeners in a fun, laid back atmosphere. We never want anyone to feel pressure or under the spotlight when we are doing an interview. We jump on Zoom, and I typically have a bourbon, maybe a cigar. We talk, laugh, learn about each other and then share it with our listeners.

We were nominated for an AVN award in January and that was shocking to us to be in that company of other nominees, so hey it would be great to get more for sure.
