Thank Dogs for Doggy Style Fundraiser During June
NEW YORK – June is National Pet Month in the U.S. To call attention to the plight of homeless and abandoned animals, an adult tube site has promised to donate a portion of its June earnings to an animal rescue operation.
RedTube’s “Thank Dogs for Doggy Style” campaign will benefit Dallas Pets Alive!, a North Texas based non-profit dedicated to eliminating the deaths of unwanted companion animals. The tube site will donate 1 cent for every 1,000 videos viewed before July 1.
RedTube Vice President Alex Taylor said the campaign’s goal is to “save and give thanks to the real pioneers of ‘doggy style,’ arguably one of the best sex positions, and perhaps the reason many of us exist today.”
“Through the campaign — and the great ongoing work by [DPA] — we will create awareness of and provide resources for programs needed to eliminate the killing of companion animals,” Taylor said. “To participate, take a page out of our four-legged friends’ playbook and ‘stay’ and enjoy the videos and ‘rollover’ when done — all for a good cause.”
According to Taylor, RedTube receives more than 20 million visits daily. The company anticipates raising “thousands of dollars” through the campaign.
“We’re thrilled to be partnering with RedTube to raise awareness and bring resources to those saving companion animals in the Northern Texas area,” said Carla Eboli, head of DPA’s Communications Committee. “When you adopt a pet from a shelter or other rescue organization, you’re giving that animal a second chance and saving a life. I encourage everybody to please visit RedTube as often as possible during the campaign to help us raise as much as possible.”
On average, 2.7 million animals in U.S. shelters are euthanized annually, according to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Dallas Pets Alive!, staffed entirely by volunteers, focuses on rescuing at-risk shelter animals and providing support to owners who must “re-home” their pets due to a change in life circumstances.
