Swiping the Sale
YNOT – Just in time for the January trade-show circuit, internet payment services provider NETbilling has added a phone-swipe device that allows merchant clients to accept credit card payments anywhere they have cell-phone access.
According to a spokesperson, NETbilling’s new swipe device works with iPhone, Android and BlackBerry devices at the same rates and with the same security merchants enjoy for card-present transactions.
“Many NETbilling merchants wanted the ability to accept cards on the go and have been using NETbilling’s virtual terminal application for iPhone,” said NETbilling President Mitch Farber. “Having the new phone swipe gives merchants the ease of processing credit card payments on virtually any smartphone, and we are excited to be able to provide this along with our other great transaction processing tools and services.”
Farber also said the card reader and downloadable app to power it are free for NETbilling clients. Processing rates for transactions are 2.69 percent and accrue no additional fees. There is no application fee, setup fee, equipment fee or cancellation fee for using the service. Transactions are credited to clients’ merchant accounts within two business days of the date a sale is processed.
