SWAID Vegas to Attend YNOT Cam Awards
LAS VEGAS – Representatives of SWAID Las Vegas, a support fund created by and for sex workers, will attend the YNOT Cam Awards in Hollywood, California October 14, as part of the organization’s ongoing efforts to raise awareness and funds, SWAID Vegas announced today.
Founded by Summer Hart, Codi Vore, Tegan Trex, Queen Ava, Sophie Ladder and Xander Corvus – all adult performers and content creators – all funds contributed to SWAID Vegas are given directly to sex workers across the country, primarily in small grants, as detailed on the organization’s website.
At the YNOT Cam Awards, Vore, Trex and Hart will be co-hosting the Red Carpet portion of the awards show, which kicks off at 5:30pm Pacific time. The reps of SWAID Vegas also will make a brief appearance on stage during the award show to accept donations from attendees who would like to chip in their support for sex workers.
“As members of the adult entertainment industry, empowered sex workers are the backbone of your business,” Vore said. “Everyone in adult knows that sex workers are the engine of the industry. Without us, there’s no content, no traffic, no interest from fans. To have a healthy industry, you need to take care of your models and workers. Giving to organizations like ours is a small part of that.”
Those who wish to contribute to SWAID Vegas needn’t wait until the YNOT Cam Awards to do so, of course. Anyone can contribute through the organization’s website any time, using Patreon, PayPal or Cashapp.
SWAID Vegas provides aid to sex workers in a variety of forms, including micro grants, groceries, contraceptives, harm reduction supplies, resource referrals, fundraising events and community building.
In addition to contributing through the website, companies that would like to support SWAID Vegas have the option of becoming sponsors of the organization – something that Vore noted comes with benefits beyond lending a helping hand.
“If you become a sponsor, we’ll shout you out on Twitter and list you on our website, which will create a lot of good will in the sex worker community,” Vore said. “There are many companies out there that claim to be for sex workers, but they don’t show it through their actions. Donating to this mutual aid fund shows that your company does more than give lip service to supporting sex workers.”
