Survey: Realtors Get Most Sex; Truckers the Least
WATFORD, ENGLAND — A new survey conducted by sex-toy e-tailer OnJoy.com revealed British real estate agents get the most sex, but truck drivers are underprivileged between the sheets.According to the poll of 3,000 British adults, Realtors have sex an average of four times weekly — twice the national average in the U.K. In contrast, truckers admitted engaging in off-road activities only twice weekly. On the positive side, from truckers’ perspective: At least they don’t suffer sexually any more than the average Brit.
The OnJoy poll indicated flight attendants came in the second with three sexual encounters weekly, followed by barristers, secretaries and telemarketers.
Near the bottom of the barrel with truckers are librarians, nurses, teachers and customer service representatives.
“Despite the declining property market, estate agents are turning their cheeky chat and negotiating skills to other areas,” an OnJoy spokesperson told Britain’s The Daily Mirror. “With twice as much action between the sheets as other Brits, they’re not letting the pressures [of daily life] affect their sex lives.”
Across all segments, nearly a third of respondents admitted to sleeping with a co-worker, and 28-percent said they have had sex on the job.
Among other interesting revelations: More than a quarter of the survey’s participants said they have initiated sex because they view the activity as a pleasant form of exercise, especially when attempting to lose weight. Forty-eight percent said sex gives them a better workout than anything they might attempt at a gym, and almost 45-percent said that may be because they put more effort into sexual activity than they do into more traditional exercise. Only 10-percent of Brits admitted feeling guilty about using their sexual partner exercise reasons.
“Sex is a fantastic all-over body workout and a great way to stay in shape,” OnJoy Director Monique Carty said. “Not only is sex more enjoyable than a session at the gym, but it can also support cardiovascular fitness and muscular flexibility too.”
According to the poll, the average Brit engages in 24 minutes of sexual activity at a time, compared to exercising twice a week outside the bedroom for 38 minutes per outing.
“The average lovemaking session can burn between 50 and 100 calories,” Carty said. “This means that having sex three times a week burns 7,500 calories per year, the equivalent of jogging 75 miles.
“With the gloomy weather and shorter days, Brits should embrace the health benefits of sex by staying longer in bed with their partner — and shape up at the same time,” she added.
However, there is one caveat, Carty admitted: Much like with more traditional exercise, 37-percent of Brits said they have suffered an injury during frisky sex.
