Surveillance Footage Helps Pop Unsuccessful Colorado “Porn Inspector”
LONGMONT, CO — Drew Libby’s dream of being an “age verification porn inspector” is over, thanks to real world law enforcement officers inspecting a real world image. Arrested on two counts of impersonating an officer, as well as possession of an illegal weapon, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and child abuse, 33-year-old Libby is believed to have thrice tried to con an adult novelty shop clerk into providing him with free porn DVDs.
In an attempt to bolster his unlikely story, the pony-tailed Libby had flashed a badge and left a business card claiming to show his affiliation with the non-existent Longmont police “age verification unit.”
The Associated Press reports that the combined efforts of tipsters and a police officer who had all viewed photos from a shop surveillance camera led to the identification and arrest of innovative but previously convicted felon.
Libby was at home with his mother and 9-year-old son at the time of his arrest and was found to be in possession of what authorities call a “metal security badge,” as well as illegal knives, several large swords, and a semi-automatic handgun. He has been booked into the Boulder County jail, although it is unknown whether he has legal counsel as yet.
