Sunny Leone Goes Mainstream in ‘Black Shama’
YNOT – AVN Award-winning adult performer Sunny Leone has crossed over into mainstream again with the completion of principle photography for a new horror flick. It remains to be seen whether the character she plays in The Black Shama “crosses over.”
Details about the movie are scarce, but the Indo-Canadian star said her role as a professional photographer who falls victim to a psychological killer possessed by an amulet was both challenging and rewarding.
“This was one of the most interesting roles I have ever had and really pushed me,” Leone said. “The cast and crew where amazing, as was the entire experience. The mountains of Cebu where surreal.”
The project was filmed on location in Cebu, The Philippines.
Leone is no stranger to acting with her clothes on. In 2008 she appeared in Pirate’s Blood, an Indian production by Jayashree Cine International. She also taken part in several adult-but-not-explicit reality TV shows, including Fox’s My Bare Lady 2: Open For Business.
In addition, Leone played the lead in Gia: Portrait of a Porn Star, which she produced and directed for her own studio, SunLust Pictures Inc.
The Black Shama is expected to see worldwide release next year.
