Success through Organization
Being properly organized will help your business run more smoothly, efficiently, and successfully. Centralizing your webmaster resources will allow you to quickly find what you’re looking for, easily monitor stats and sales, build and update sites faster, and allow data backups by simply copying one directory to CD.

The SITES menu displays a listing of my current web sites, with links to both the local versions on my PC as well as the “online” version. This allows me to quickly ensure that my live sites are up and running, as well as compare them to the versions currently under development. There are also links to my doorway pages, as well as to my server’s stats page and control panel. Another link displays my server setup and account information.
The SPONSORS menu displays an alphabetical listing of my sponsors. Each sponsor listing contains a link to a “setup” page. This page displays all account information, user names, passwords, banner page URL’s, linking criteria and syntax, e-mail addresses, etc.
The sponsor list also details the various programs I am enrolled in, with direct links to their respective stats and setup pages, as well as passwords and usernames.
For instance, my CyberErotica listing links not only to their main webmaster page, but also to my Big Time Green, Fast Cash, Follow Me, Golden Nuggets, Risky Mail, and Teen Mail stats pages as well. I test these programs at different times and places color coding the entries to help track their status; green listings signify a program that I am advertising, red entries are currently inactive.
My AD MAP comes next. This is a new browser window with a chart listing my sites and all of my sponsor’s programs. I use this to manage my overall advertising strategy. I can visually tell not only what sponsor and program I have on a particular page, but what type of ad (Banner, Table Ad, Full Page, Console, Text / Blind Link, or Webmaster Program) as well as it’s placement (top or bottom banner slot, etc). This allows me to make the most productive use of my ad space.
Clicking WEB TECH opens a list of sub-categories such as .htaccess, consoles, scripts, and META tags. Want a stealth console, back button redirect, date stamp, dual function MouseOver, or perhaps a script to re-direct WebTv users to a particular page? I have the code available here, ready to cut and paste into my web page.
TGPs are handled next. This link opens a sub-menu with links to my “tables page” as well as to my active TGP list. The “tables page” contains just that, tables with banner, button, or text links to four TGPs each, categorized according to their linking criteria.
For example, those posts that allow pics on separate html pages, blind links, and exit consoles, are in the “A” category. A gallery made to these specifications will have a URL ending “/a01.htm” for the first set of four posts, “/a02.htm” for the second set, and so on.
I have merely to copy and paste these tables into their respective galleries and submit them using the active TGP list. This list is categorized in the same way so that I know which URL to submit. Under “a01.htm” are links to both the main and submit pages of the respective posts whose links are on that particular gallery. When the “A” list is done, I remove the exit console from the gallery, change tables and then submit to the “B” list: those posts allowing separate html pages and blind links, but not consoles. This process continues with stricter posts on the “C” and “D” lists, each allowing fewer advertising tricks, but usually delivering more or “better” traffic.
Next comes a link for PROMOTIONS. This opens a sub-menu linking to my URL, description, and META tag lists, as well as links to various search engines, directories, and top lists suitable for posting adult content. My last submission dates are also listed.
I will be updating this section to include a scrolling text box containing all linking info. This will further speed up the search engine submission process, as I will be able to easily copy and paste this information into the appropriate submission form fields.
The final link is for RESOURCES. This opens a sub menu listing my favorite sites, like The Adult Webmaster Magazine, NetPond Chronicles, WebOverdrive, and many others. There are also links for current browser and OS information, search engine technology, scripting resources, anything that helps me to be a better and more effective webmaster.
Additionally, inside the site I have several “scratch” pages: New Sponsors, New Tech, New Promotions, and New Resources. Whenever I come across some little nugget of info, a hot URL, or bit of code, I copy and paste it onto one of these pages until it can be properly incorporated into Porn Command.
Having such a facility greatly simplifies my daily tasks, allowing me to make better use of my time and resources, and is much more efficient than using bookmarks or a simple page full of links. Building your own version of “Porn Command” may take a little time, but the effort is well worth it.
