Streamlining the Webcam Interface
YNOT – Most adult websites undergo facelifts every few years. No matter how often new content is added, when conversions decline or members log in less frequently, even the most successful webmasters begin to blame one of the big reasons for consumer loss of interest: boredom with the same old design.
Despite their dynamic natures, “decor fatigue” can be a surprisingly active phenomenon on webcam and tube sites. Ask DatingGold, which just completed a remodeling and re-launch of WebCamClub.com, a 12-year-old domain offering two-way, real-time interaction with female models worldwide.
According to Vice President of Sales and Marketing Alfonsus “AK” Kusuma, updates to WCC included not only a new look, but also a streamlining of the underlying page code. By employing cascading style sheets and cutting down on the volume of images, the site granted end-users not only faster load times, but also the ability to control the look and “feel” of their experience by manipulating settings for things like monitor aspect ratios.
“The trend in user behavior that has followed these recent changes indicates that the new design and layout has created a more user-friendly environment,” Kusuma said. “Internal split-testing of the new site resulted in 30 percent more sign-ups and a significant increase in user online time.”
WCC also added new features that cater to regular clients, Kusuma noted. New “valued member” rewards may be redeemed for free credits, and a new “fan club” feature lets members save on their private shows with their favorite models.
“The lifetime value of each member is expected to increase dramatically, which is very good news for our WebCamClub affiliates who get paid on a revenue-share basis,” Kusuma said.
The new structure also allows DatingGold to offer customized pay-per-lead or pay-per-sale options for affiliates who send high volumes of quality traffic, he added. The company’s usual revenue structure offers up to $2 per lead, $100 per sale or a 35-percent recurring revenue share.
