Streamate Adds Geo-Restriction to Live-Cam Network
YNOT – Internet broadcaster Streamate has added a “geo-restriction” feature to its live-cam network. The software component allows models to select up to five geographic areas they wish to block. Potential customers within those areas (country, city, U.S. state) will be unable to interact with the model. The feature is flexible, allowing models to adjust their restrictions as necessary or desired.
According to a Streamate spokesperson, the feature was developed to assist models in protecting their privacy. Geo-restriction enables performers to block users from their hometown or any other region where they might be recognized.
“I really like the geo-restrictions,” said Cassidy Nicole, one of Streamate’s most popular performers. “I use it because it makes me feel a bit safer to know that it is less likely that a neighbor, family member or friend is watching me work.”
Streamate plans additional consumer-, performer- and partner-focused enhancements to the network later this year. For more information about the company, visit Streamate.com. Webcam performers interested in joining the network will find more information at StreamateModels.com.
