‘Stop, Thief!’ It’s the Porno Police
YNOT – A new copyright enforcement service has launched. PornoPolice.net claims to interface with Google, Yahoo!, Bing, Interpol and the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers in order to establish procedures for removing search results that violate intellectual property rights.
“Our job is to do the worrying for you,” partner Jim Weiss said. “We get your products removed so you can get back to making money and not stress out.”
Among the services offered by the company are searching the web for infringement of adult copyrights and sending out Digital Millennium Copyright Act, European Union Copyright Directive, Online Copyright Infringement Liability Limitation Act and World Intellectual Property Organization takedown notices on behalf of content owners.
Weiss said the company also will supply adult artists with the locations of potentially infringing sites on the web along with lists of titles, ISP of the website’s provider, contact information and any other data that may be available.
PornoPolice.net works in conjunction with Business Action to Stop Counterfeiting and Piracy, a division of the International Chamber of Commerce, Weiss added.
